To arrange for home delivery of books and other materials, you must be registered as distance education faculty/student/staff in the ILLiad system. To register as a distance education user, follow these steps:
Important: Local users who will be at a remote location for an extended period of time (excluding breaks), can register for delivery services. Please contact Interlibrary Services at ils@utk.edu or (865)-974-4240, to request a status change.
For all others:
Go to the Resource Sharing (formerly called Interlibrary Loan Services) website.
Enter your NetID and password to enter the ILLiad system.
Provide your personal information.
Choose the status that includes Distance Education in parentheses. If you do not qualify for this service, we will let you know.
Choose YES for Electronic Delivery.
Next, choose Distance Ed Delivery for both Preferred Paper Copy and Loan Delivery methods.
Do not use a PO box for your address as items are delivered via FedEX and a signature is required.
Delivery of Books and Articles
Journal articles will be delivered electronically through the ILLiad system whenever possible. Books and other materials will be sent via FedEx. We will include a FedEx prepaid label to ship the material back to us. Borrowers are responsible for lost/damaged materials.
Off-Campus Access to Virtual Library Resources
Accessing our online resources is almost the same whether you are on and off-campus! Go through the UT Libraries’ Website and search for resources on OneSearch. If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to log on with your UT NetID and password.
Access to UT Libraries subscriptions is restricted to current Faculty, Staff, and Students. Please review our Electronic Resource Use Policy for more information.
