Belonging and Engagement
Diversity & Inclusion at the University of Tennessee LibrariesUT Libraries in collaboration with the School of Information Sciences and the Student ALA Chapter are creating an opportunity for another Book Read. Given the success from our collaboration with Algorithms of Oppression and the fruitful discussions in both the small and large group sessions, we are hopeful that this initiative will be as thoughtful as the original meetings were. At this time, the Book Read subcommittee (Peter Fernandez, Michelle Brannen, Thura Mack, Megan Venable, Brian Dobreski, Amy Snyder and Aeryle Kuehn) has solicited titles and called for a vote, and the book with the most selections is The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story created by Nikole Hannah Jones.
Many thanks for your continued interest in our growing Book Read. We are happy to have the interest and participation of the School of Information Sciences and the Student ALA Chapter and thank them for this opportunity.
