Description
Pendergrass Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine Library is seeking a Graduate Student Library Assistant (GSLA). Candidates must be dependable, able to work independently, and possess excellent customer service skills. Please see below for information on minimum qualifications, required duties, pay, and application procedure.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage the Library on evenings and weekends, which includes: supervising the work of other student workers; negotiating any facility, security, or patron issues that may arise; and locking up the Library at closing time.
- Assist Library patrons at the Service Desk, which may include: ciruculation of library materials; reference services; basic technology support; and citation management software.
- Fulfill Large Format Print (posters), Resource Sharing, and scanning requests.
- Help plan and participate in outreach events such as orientations, fairs, and Library programs with the Public Services and Engagement Librarian.
- Support the Makerspace and Technology Coordinator with 3-D printing and tours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a enrolled as a UTK graduate student with at least one year of availability before graduation.
- Must be available to work at least 10 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Possess excellent communication skills for working with faculty, Library staff, students, and the general public.
- Possess a strong public service ethic and excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Macintosh and Windows-based computers and software including Word and Excel.
