The Health and Wellness Department at John C. Hodges Library seeks a Graduate Student Library Assistant (GSLA) to join its team for the upcoming academic year (August 19, 2024 – May 15, 2025). The GSLA will work up to 15 hours weekly during a regular semester schedule. The GSLA will gain experience working on collaborative and independent projects that further the library’s goals, with some work tailored to the individual’s interests and skills. The salary for this position is $14/hour, and prior library work experience is not required.
Responsibilities & Duties
Duties may include:
Research assistance via email and live chat
Library outreach, promotions, and events
Collection development and management
Assessment of departmental programs
Instructional assistance
Research guide creation and management
Required Qualifications
Current UT graduate student in Information Sciences or a related program
Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to high-quality customer service
Willingness to pursue a variety of library projects and tasks
Knowledge of various information and computer resources, including databases, online catalogs, internet search engines, and software
