A two volume encyclopedia set comprised of approximately 2100 entries which range from brief fact based summaries of 50 words to comprehensive analytical articles of 5000 words or more. The two volumes comprise the whole history of the blues, covering biographies, culture, geography, history, instruments, music business, music styles, musical techniques, record labels, related arts and song titles. Entries are listed alphabetically, but volume one also contains a thematic index to entries. |
