After an illuminating second season of For Your Reference, our final episode will take place Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m. (EDT). This concluding discussion will feature guests Stevie Munz and Justin Rudnick and will center on issues of publishing identity-based work that utilizes experimental ways of understanding and representing.

For Your Reference is dedicated to media and information literacy — teaching our viewers not only how to access information but also how to be savvy consumers of that information. In addition to a critical analysis of political discourse from our guest scholars, librarians will offer tips on locating reliable information on the topic and will explore the UT Libraries’ archives in search of pertinent historical collections.

Dr. Stevie M. Munz (pronouns: she/her/hers) is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at Utah Valley University. Her research program focuses on exploring the cultural experiences of identity, power, politics, and gender. In particular, she is concerned with how human beings understand and communicate these relational, political, and social experiences. She pursues her scholarly interests along two different, but related, lines of research that examine identity in the contexts of classrooms and small-town communities. To accomplish her research endeavors, she draws on intercultural, identity, and instructional communication literature as well as, utilizes narrative, ethnographic, and oral history interviewing practices.

Justin Rudnick (pronouns: he/she/they) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Their scholarly pursuits have involved performance and sensory explorations of the everyday lived experiences of queer persons, and the cultural and relational dynamics of living life as outwardly queer. Outside of the academy, Justin resides in the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area, where they enjoy the music, theater, and food scenes, and being the fun uncle to five of the funniest kids.
