Much needed and long anticipated work begins in Pendergrass Library this week as physical plant begins replacement of mercury vapor lights with brighter, energy efficient T5 high output fluorescent lights. This project requires removal of old fixtures, replaced/repaired ceiling tiles, and installation of new fixtures and bulbs. Areas of the library will be blocked off but access to computers and collections will still be possible—just obey signs and tape indicating restricted areas, and be understanding of noise. Ask for help at the service desk.
In addition, solar film will be installed to replace the blinds on the high windows over the computer lab.
Pendergrass Library also received new chairs and new paint this summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school in a few weeks.
