Since that date, some assignments have changed, some departments have been reorganized, and some faculty and staff members featured here are no longer with the University of Tennessee Libraries. For a current list of library faculty and staff, check the Libraries’ Staff Directory. To identify the librarian who specializes in your discipline, see this list of Subject Librarians.
Information Is Our Game
BIG IDEAS demand reliable information. The University Libraries supports scholarship, research, and learning at UT by acquiring, organizing, preserving, and facilitating access to the world’s knowledge. The wide-ranging expertise of our librarians might surprise you.
As head of Research Collections, Molly Royse oversees the selection, collection development, and management of the Libraries’ collections. She determines fund allocations and monitors expenditures for all collections budgets.
With Molly’s guidance, subject librarians work closely with representatives from each academic department to develop library collections that best meet the curricular and research needs of faculty and students. Under her direction, librarians conduct collection analysis and evaluate titles to be added or removed from the collection.
Molly directs the Libraries’ approval plans, vendor relationships, database trials, and patron driven acquisitions.
Molly holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Samford University, and a master’s in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
