What: OpenCon 2015 satellite event, “Open Scholarship: The New Rules”

When: Tuesday, November 17, 3 p.m.

Where: Hodges Library 213

This brief overview of open scholarship will help researchers, graduate students, faculty, and administrators increase their readership and impact.  Learn from the leaders in open scholarship how open affects research, publication, and teaching.  Topics of discussion include public access, social media, impact factors, copyright, citation analysis, and more.

The presentation is free and refreshments are provided.  Please RSVP to rradom@utk.edu by Saturday, November 14.

This is a satellite event for OpenCon 2015, the early career academic professional conference on open access, open education, and open data.

ImageJ Software Workshop, November 20

What: Workshop on ImageJ Image Processing Software

When: Friday, November 20, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: Pendergrass Library Study Room G

This introductory course will discuss visual processing of information using ImageJ, an open source image processing software.  Image processing and analysis provides a means to extract and quantify objects and patterns in image data in various research fields.  Topics covered in the workshop include image enhancement and segmentation.

Wednesday, November 25: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Thursday, November 25 – Friday, November 26: Closed

Saturday, November 27: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (normal hours)

Sunday, November 28: 1 p.m. – 12 a.m. (normal hours)
