ORCID Workshop at Pendergrass: February 25

Pendergrass Library is hosting an event Thursday, February 25 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. to help researchers learn more about creating a free ORCID identifier. Register for the event today using the online form.

UT no longer supports SelectedWorks Author Gallery, which is a module in Trace.  Librarians now recommend that authors register for a free ORCID identifier and publishing profile.  Visit the Libraries’ research guide to learn more about ORCID.

The event will take place in Pendergrass Library’s Alcove area.  For help finding Pendergrass Library, visit our map and parking information or call us at (865) 974-7338.

EndNote Class at Pendergrass: March 7

Overwhelmed by citations and piles of unorganized research? Come to the EndNote training at Pendergrass Library on Monday, March 7 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Register for the session today by e-mailing endnote@utk.edu.

EndNote is a citation management tool that will capture and organize citations from database searches. EndNote can also hold full-text PDFs and format citations in the style of your choice into Microsoft Word documents.

Guided instruction may help with understanding the interface and how to use EndNote to its fullest potential. EndNote is free to UT faculty, staff, and students. Click here to visit our online EndNote guide and watch guided video tutorials.

Not able to make this session? If you need EndNote help on the UTIA campus, contact Peter Fernandez or Ann Viera.  You can also arrange an EndNote training session for groups of seven or more by e-mailing endnote@utk.edu.

The Libraries also offers support for Zotero, an open source alternative to EndNote.  Zotero is free for everyone, integrates seamlessly with Internet browsers, and has an easy-to-learn iTunes-like interface.  Undergraduate students may want to consider using Zotero.

The event will take place in Pendergrass Library’s Alcove area.  For help finding Pendergrass Library, visit our map and parking information or call us at (865) 974-7338.
