Statistics Workshop on JMP Software June 2
Researchers working with visual data should consider attending this new workshop on JMP statistical discovery software on Thursday, June 2, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Pendergrass Library Study Room G. JMP combines powerful statistics with dynamic and interactive graphics, revealing insights that raw tables of numbers or static graphs tend to hide.
Participants will practice using the JMP interface to:
- Manage data effectively
- Explore data by using the software’s extensive graphical capabilities
- Create and manage data summary reports
- Conduct basic data analysis
Click here to register for the workshop through OIT. Prior preliminary knowledge of JMP is not required. To download JMP, visit the OIT software distribution page and click on SAS. Visit the JMP website to learn more about the software capabilities.
Need additional help? Statistical consultants are available at Pendergrass Library to help with project planning, data sampling, data analysis, testing and presentation. Call OIT at (865) 974-9900 to schedule an appointment.

New Impactstory Features Help you Track your Research
Impactstory is an open source, web-based tool that provides altmetrics (“alternative metrics”) to help researchers measure and share the impacts of all their research outputs—from traditional ones such as journal articles, to alternative research outputs such as blog posts, datasets, and software. Impactstory helps you monitor the number of citations, downloads, and mentions of your work, so you can easily demonstrate its value to colleagues, research funders, and more.
This April, Impactstory took feedback from researchers like you and released several new features to help you track your research output:
- Now available completely FREE of charge!
- Sync-on-demand with your ORCID profile (ORCID is supported by UT Libraries)
- New Achievements menu of meaningful mentions and accomplishments
- Full support for mobile devices
To sign up with Impactstory, simply visit impactstory.org and sync it to your ORCID account. Don’t have an ORCID account? Visit this guide for information on the benefits of ORCID and this guide will help you get started with your account.
