Pendergrass Library is home to more than 145,000 books, datasets, journals, and periodicals. Our collection focuses on topics such as agriculture, environmental sciences, natural sciences, food Items mostly focus on North American agriculture practices. However, we purchase items with an international focus when appropriate.

Pendergrass Library is organized using the Library of Congress Classification system. Which groups books by subject. On the spines of our books, you will find a Library of Congress call number - consider call numbers the book's address. Each number and letter correlate with a subject.

Government Documents at Pendergrass Library
The Collection
Pendergrass Library was the state depository for agriculture publications through 1989. As such, we followed Government Publishing Office (GPO) guidelines to keep items of historical importance. Currently, the University of Memphis is the regional depository library and is home to items published after 1989.
