Digital Learning Book Club
Welcome to the Digital Learning Book Club!
The Digital Learning Book Club uses a blended online modality (synchronous via Zoom and asynchronous via Inscribe) to promote a learning community that cultivates reflection around digital learning topics such as inclusive pedagogy, online equity, and community & care. Reflective reading and discussion guides the application of content to current online technology trends and concerns. This is not a how-to workshop or technology demonstration, but rather a conversation around important online learning topics.
All UT staff and faculty are welcome, with no prior experience or knowledge necessary. We invite participants to join as learners and select their own level of engagement based on their preferences and availability. Please join when you can and read as you can!
Spring 2026
The Digital Learning Book Club and the Lifelong Learning Book Club are combining efforts this semester to host a special joint book club event. We invite our UT colleagues to join us in reading and discussing The Opposite of Cheating by Tricia Bertram Gallant and David A. Rettinger.
The Opposite of Cheating presents a positive, forward-looking, research-backed vision for what classroom integrity can look like in the GenAI era, both in cyberspace and on campus. Accordingly, the book outlines workable measures teachers can use to better understand why students cheat and to prevent cheating while aiming to enhance learning and integrity.
All synchronous meetings will take place 12-1pm EDT on Zoom. Dates for the sessions are:
- Session 1: Thursday, February 5
- Session 2: Thursday, March 5
- Session 3: Friday, March 20
During Session 3 on March 20, the author, Tricia Gallant will join our discussion.
The Opposite of Cheating is available through the UT Libraries or Amazon. Upon registration, you will be sent calendar invites and Zoom links. Register for sessions through UTK Workshop Registration.
