Student Library Advisory Committee
Please watch this page for more information about our Fall 2025 opportunities and nomination form!
Composed of undergraduate and graduate students from across disciplines, the Student Advisory Committee to the Dean of Libraries’ office (DSAC) provides invaluable contributions to the UT Libraries.
Members meet as a full committee approximately two to three times per semester, with opportunities to participate in special events or projects outside of meetings, as well as contributing input via online and self-paced forums.
Over the past several academic years, DSAC members have:
- Provided insights on library spaces, including the new Graduate Student Commons and a student-suggested Silent Room in Hodges Library
- Contributed ideas for communications and outreach on social media, technology and equipment offerings, and special events
- Participated in award nominations and review processes within and beyond the Libraries
Members were instrumental in the Libraries’ decision to add additional Sunday hours to Hodges Library’s offerings. They have also represented the Libraries in special events, including a 50th anniversary exhibit of the “Rocky Top” manuscript and the inaugural SEC Academic Collaboration Award Workshop on open educational resources (OERs).
