Student Library Advisory Committee

Composed of undergraduate and graduate students from across disciplines, the Student Advisory Committee to the Dean of Libraries’ office (SLAC) provides invaluable contributions to the UT Libraries.

Members meet as a full committee approximately two to three times per semester, with opportunities to participate in special events or projects outside of meetings, as well as contributing input via online and self-paced forums.

The 2025-26 cohort revitalized a previous advisory group and developed a new vision for the Student Library Advisory Committee. They helped to develop internal communications structures for the committee to better engage, share information among members, and stay connected between meetings.

Committee members also actively contributed to library initiatives — for instance, offering ideas for in-person and online programming for a National Library Week celebration. Committee members also engaged with UT Libraries’ Dean’s Circle at the annual Hodges Society Luncheon for donors.
