Visiting Pendergrass Library
Map and Parking Information
Housed in room A113 of the Veterinary Medical Center, the Pendergrass Library is at the corner of River Drive and Joe Johnson Drive.
Use Google Maps or the UT interactive map for the location of the campus and other buildings.
Student Parking
Pendergrass Library has a variety of parking lots nearby where students can park, including the commuter “CF” lot near the Brehm Animal Science building. In addition, there is commuter student parking near the UT Gardens off Jacob Drive.
Perimeter (Perimeter Commuter PC – Orange stripe) can park in 3 parking areas ONLY – UT Culinary Institute and University Commons on the west side of campus. Church St Methodist has a lot at Broadway and Front on the east side of campus.

Accessibility
Reserved accessible parking spots are located:
- By the Brehm Animal Science building
- In front of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Small Animal Clinic
Accessible parking permits can be purchased from UT Parking and Transit and are valid in all reserved and unreserved spaces. Find out more about these permits on the UT Parking and Transit website.

Visitor Parking
There are multiple parking options for visitors who would like to work in Pendergrass Library.
Visitors who plan on spending less than two hours at the library can use the visitor parking close to the UT Gardens.
For longer visits, Daily Visitor permits are available through Parking Services.
When you receive the permit, it will indicate where you are to park. For those needing handicap/accessible parking, please bring the following information to parking services when you go to purchase your daily parking permit:
- State-issued handicap placard/license plate, and
- State registration for the accessible placard
Bus Transportation
The Cross Campus and Neyland Express routes of “The T” provide transportation to the College of Veterinary Medicine Center and other points around campus. All bus routes are fare free.

T: Access – Daytime Service
The T: Access is a demand response service available to students who have registered for Accessible Bus Service with the office of UT Student Disability Services (SDS).
Faculty or staff need to visit the Office of Equal Opportunity and Accessibility to register for the Accessible T Bus service.
The T: Access operates on-demand, point-to-point service on UT’s main campus, Ag Campus, or UT facilities in the Fort Sanders neighborhood, weekdays from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm
After 6:00 pm, persons with disabilities may use the T: Link service.

T: Link – Evening Service
The T: Link operates nightly between 6:00 pm and 7:00 am.
No disability ID is required, but those who have registered with Accessible Service may indicate this to dispatch for priority response.
Wait times depend on call volume.
The T: Link transports students at night to their destination.
- Request pickup through the UT mobile app’s transit icon or the Passio Go app. The blue circle will pop up to request On-Demand after 6:00 pm.

Late Nite – Evening Service
All T Buses are accessible, and the Late Nite route operates nightly between 6:00 pm and 3:30 am. The Late Nite service area includes the Fort Sanders neighborhood.

Community Visitors
Welcome to the University Libraries, a central foundation for Tennessee’s oldest land-grant and primary research university. We are here to assist you with any information needed or research questions that you may have. Please note that the information on this page is specific to Pendergrass Library. Please visit the DeVine Music Library website or the Hodges Library website for more information about this locations.
Computer Access
Sponsored and non-sponsored visitors may log in to the ut-open wireless network. Eduroam is available to visitors from other universities participating in that system (http://www.eduroam.org).
To use library computers, visitors must follow UT Libraries’ Internet Access Policy. For access to our computers, please visit the Public Services desk. You will be asked to present a photo ID before a library staff member will log you into a computer in our computer lab with visitor login credentials.
Use of Print Resources
The Libraries’ print collections are available for in-house use. Visitors requiring materials from Library Storage should use a Storage Request Form to order materials in advance.
Borrowing Privileges
Visit the Circulation pages for information on borrowing privileges. Non-UT affiliates may also borrow materials by using interlibrary loan at their local public library or may purchase a borrower’s card.
Use of Online Collections and Resources
Visitors to Pendergrass can obtain internet access by bringing their mobile device or laptop and logging onto our visitor network.
The Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) is a collection of 40+ databases that provide access to over 400,000 magazines, journals, newspaper articles, essays, podcasts, videos, e-books, primary source materials, and more. TEL is available free of charge to any Tennessee resident and is accessible 24/7 from any computer with access to the internet.
