As Arts & Humanities Librarian, I advance the teaching and research missions of the university by providing in-depth consultation, research support, information literacy instruction, and outreach and engagement activities to faculty, staff, students, and the general public. I build and maintain relevant collections by selecting, evaluating, and managing print, electronic, and audiovisual resources in Art, Cinema Studies, and Theatre. I can connect you with resources at UT Libraries and beyond, help you locate books and articles, and provide guidance for effective search strategies. I also enjoy projecting 16mm film for classes and giving guest lectures on film technology history and preservation.
Previous roles at UT include Project Coordinator for the Tennessee Newspaper Digitization Project, a partnership with the Tennessee State Library and Archives, digitizing historical newspapers for the Library of Congress’s Chronicling America. I later served as Digital Projects Librarian, leading the digital production unit and coordinating efforts to expand and enrich the Libraries’ Digital Collections.
I hold an MS in information sciences from the University of Tennessee, an MA in film archiving from the University of East Anglia, and a BA(Hons) in photography from the University of Brighton. In 2005, I co-founded the Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound in Knoxville, and served as co-director until 2013. My research interests focus on small gauge and amateur film, and particularly historical color film processes. I am a member of the Association of Moving Image Archivists and serve as co-chair for the Conference Committee and Small Gauge and Amateur Film Committee.
