Description

Work with the Publishing & Open Repository Administrator to conduct clean-up of TRACE submission records, including removing unnecessary submissions from the TRACE record and cleaning up metadata from the TRACE migration to a new platform.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Remediate existing electronic theses and dissertations that are published in TRACE to meet the upcoming ADA Title II requirements.
  • Assist with project to assign DOIs to theses and dissertations published in TRACE.
  • Assist with V.O.L. Journals platform including basic troubleshooting of issues with the platform, making metadata changes to published articles, and assisting journal editors when needed.
  • Assist with keeping the TRACE Research Guide and the V.O.L. Journals Guide up-to-date.
  • Assist with user assessment projects and marketing efforts for TRACE as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a University of Tennessee graduate student.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with information and technology resources, including databases, internet search tools, online design tools, and standard software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, Canva).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in institutional repositories, library publishing, or remediating materials to meet accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with LibGuides or similar platforms for creating and maintaining research guides.
  • Existing knowledge of DOIs, including what they are, how they are constructed, and how they are registered with Crossref.
  • Experience with DSpace platform and/or the Janeway platform.
