Description

The UT Libraries’ Marketing and Communications department seeks an energetic, creative, and self-directed student to assist with and contribute to communication efforts that promote UT Libraries to our campus and community. This individual will be tasked with creating social media content that promotes UT Libraries, its resources and services.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Generate ideas for, and create social media content that promotes UT Libraries, its resources, and services (captions, static image, carousel, video scripts, voiceovers, short-form video, and/or long-form video)
  • Collaborate on planning, development, and scheduling of social media content and campaigns
  • Ensure digital content and postings across all channels comply with established accessibility standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • UT student (graduate or undergraduate)
  • Enthusiasm for communicating with UT students, faculty, and staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube)
  • Familiarity with video editing software like Instagram Edits, Canva, and/or Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Videography and/or photography experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to track and follow social media trends
  • Coursework or experience in communications and marketing, journalism and electronic media, social media, cinema studies, or related fields
