You Are Invited to Lunch with the Harlem Quartet

The UT Libraries’ Diversity Committee invites you to lunch with the Harlem Quartet. This very special, in-person reception with members of the renowned string quartet will be held 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, in room 270 of the Student Union. As performers, teachers, and orchestral collaborators, this widely acclaimed string quartet advances diversity in classical music while engaging new audiences with varied repertoire that includes works by minority composers. Their mission to share their passion with a wider audience has taken them around the world.

The Harlem Quartet will be on campus to perform at UT’s Ready for the World Music Series. The Grammy-winning quartet will present a program of works by Afro–Caribbean composers. The event at the Natalie Haslam Music Center on Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m., will include performances of works and a brief lecture about composers from the featured region. (Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. so that guests may mingle and enjoy displays related to Afro–Caribbean music.)
