Construction Will Close Some Entrances to Hodges Library, August 6-13
From August 6 to August 13, a construction project will partially block one of the Hodges Library entrances. But the library remains open and accessible.
Demolition of the old Melrose Hall on Melrose Avenue, adjacent to Hodges Library, will close the sidewalk between the Pedestrian Walkway and the second-floor entrance to Hodges.
In addition, two of the three doors at the second-floor level will be sealed shut. Only the north entrance (facing Cumberland Avenue) will remain open to entry at the second-floor level. The outside automatic doors will be shut down. For accessibility, the north-facing door will remain propped open and the interior sliding doors will remain functional. Visitors with mobility impairments may also use the automatic entrance at the ground floor (Volunteer Blvd.) level.
