Dryad Data Repository for UT Researchers
UT researchers can now deposit research data in Dryad at no cost through a new campus membership funded by the Office of Innovative Technologies (OIT) and managed by UT Libraries.
Dryad is an open data publishing platform that assigns datasets a persistent DOI (digital object identifier), making it discoverable, citable, and compliant with funder and publisher data-sharing requirements. Submitting data to Dryad streamlines the publication process and supports open, reproducible research.
Dryad is ideal for general-purpose data that accompany journal articles or grant-funded research and for data that is intended to be fully open and available. For sensitive data, proprietary data, or other data archiving needs, please reach out to the Libraries’ Data and Digital Scholarship team to identify alternative repositories and solutions (dataservices@utk.edu).
For those helping our patrons use UT Knoxville's Dryad membership:
- You need an ORCID ID to deposit data in Dryad.
- The coverage of data deposit fees should be automatic when University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is selected as affiliation (so it should be free!).
- If anyone runs into any issues or has questions, please direct them to dataservices@utk.edu!
