Incorporating Resources into Canvas
Incorporating UT Libraries resources in Canvas provides a way for students to easily navigate to material that can help in specific courses, as well as services that they can utilize throughout their education.
The sections below provide information and instructions about varied ways to connect library resources to Canvas, allowing you to customize the approach to your instructional needs.
Resources at UT Libraries page
This page provides an overview of frequently used UT Libraries' resources and services, as well as quick links to hours and contact information. It is part of the default navigation in all Canvas courses, and you do not need to do anything to add it. If you do not see it or have issues accessing it, please reach out to UT's Office of Innovative Technologies (OIT) for assistance.
Add library content
Follow these instructions to use the External Tool option to seamlessly add UT Libraries' research guides and databases to your Canvas course.
Add external content
Follow these instructions to use the External URL option to add Web content to your Canvas course, including tutorials, media, website links, and more.
Embed a Librarian
A Librarian embedded in a Canvas course can add content including pages, modules, quizzes, and assignments, participate in discussion boards, comment on student submissions, and message the class or individual students.
If you are interested in this option, reach out to your subject librarian or specialist to make a plan for involvement. Please note that librarians can not access student grades or add other individuals to the course.
