I chose Fahrenheit 451 because it has always reminded me that knowledge and curiosity are acts of hope. Bradbury's story honors the courage to think, to question, and to keep learning - even when it is uncomfortable and dangerous to do so. As an educator, that message feels close to my heart - and a meaningful way to mark this new chapter in my own academic journey.

This book symbolizes sacred time spent with my family, while also inviting me to re-experience the magic of childhood. I continually challenge myself to embrace the magic of childhood as I raise my family and influence the next generation of social workers.

The first chapters are so beautiful. They convey a rich theological imagination that inspires reflection, and the musical themes are especially meaningful and compelling to me. I began to share this book with my children during the time I was working toward promotion to full professor. Works of art like this, and sharing them with the people you love, are some of the great joys that give life meaning.

It was a true honor to collaborate on my first textbook and to work alongside so many remarkable scholars in the field of anthrozoology.

I choose this book because it is the memoir of the first (hopefully!) Black woman confirmed to the United States Supreme Court. She is someone whom I admire and I would like for her memoir to be made available in order to inspire future generations of jurists of all races and genders.

It helped me reframe my pessimism and it helped me embrace/accept our chaotic world, at least a little bit.

I chose this book because it beautifully illustrates how true satisfaction comes not from wealth or success, but from making a difference in people's lives. Nothing gives greater satisfaction than helping to educate children and empowering them through knowledge.
