The mission of the Assessment Programs and Collection Strategy department at the University of Tennessee Libraries is to facilitate continual improvement in the Libraries’ services, spaces, and collections by empowering all library staff to make evidence-based decisions.
We achieve our mission in a variety of ways:
- supporting and consulting with people throughout the Libraries on assessment projects,
- conducting various assessments on behalf of the Libraries,
- guiding collection development and management activities,
- facilitating paths for for researchers to publish the findings of their work as open access,
- and providing career enrichment opportunities for students working with our team that complement their classroom instruction with hands on skills, experience, and knowledge.
