Description
The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) supports the department’s work with electronic resources and metadata maintenance. The GRA will assist with catalog record processing, data quality improvements, and project-based work related to electronic resources and technical services workflows. This position provides practical experience with library systems, metadata management, and e-resource troubleshooting.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist with batch processing and maintenance of catalog records for electronic resources.
- Modify and maintain bibliographic and holdings data in Alma to support data quality and discoverability.
- Support troubleshooting and remediation of electronic resource catalog records.
- Contribute to departmental projects such as workflow documentation, data analysis, and data cleanup.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Effective communication skills
- Understanding project management
- Experience using Excel and/or Google Sheets/Drive
- Experience working with database(s)
- Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with catalog database(s) and/or management platforms, such as, Alma (Ex Libris), OCLC Connexion or the equivalent.
- Experience with batch processing and maintenance of catalog and/or metadata records
